Maple

This software is used for mathematical calculations such as numeric and symbolic computation, 2D image processing, etc. A comparison with Mathematica is available at https://www.maplesoft.com/products/maple/compare/HowMapleComparestoMathematica.pdf. We have ten maple network licenses for all users. To access the software, the user must be connected to IITK LAN to get a license from the license server.

This software is also available on all Linux lab systems and Mathserver. All shell account users can log in to these machines to use it. Users can also download and install this software on their devices. The software can be downloaded from the link http://ftp.cc.iitk.ac.in/Linux/Maple/.

The following steps will illustrate the installation of Maple 2023 on the CentOS7 Linux operating system. Another flavor of Linux has similar installation steps.
